The 2018 season is shaping up to be gorgeous, opening with La Bayadere in March, followed by the double bill of Carmen and Firebird, then Ben Stevenson’s beautiful Cinderella, Bespoke in collaboration with Expressions Dance Company, and concluding with their annual favourite The Nutcracker. For ballet lovers aged 2-17, a QB Junior Friends membership grants access to special events, the opportunity to meet like-minded friends, and a special membership pack and Tshirt. QT18 is incredibly diverse – from Shakespeare to film noir to a play about the 2015 Rugby League Grand Final, there’s a whole host of experiences waiting. Purchase packages of 3, 5, 6, or 8 plays and choose from matinees, previews, weeknights, or even opening nights. There’s also the option to join the QT club for $10 extra per show, which brings together like-minded people to discuss the play over coffee and cake before and after the show. The only professional symphony orchestra in the state and Queensland’s largest performing arts company, QSO invites audiences to “let yourself go” with their 2018 season. There are plenty of packages available for the interests and budget of all music lovers, see the website for more details.
A great gift for adventurous minds young or old - unlimited entry to the museum and Science Centre for 12 months, discounts at the Museum shop and café, priority queueing for selected exhibitions, and access to the Museum research library. The Science Centre is closed now (from Dec 4) for a big revamp, re-opening in mid-2018. However, the website states that memberships will be extended to cover the closure time.
